The judges of the Jacksonville Division of the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida unanimously support the principles and aspirations contained in the Jacksonville Bar Association’s Professionalism Guidelines.

These guidelines, which have already received the support of the Florida Conference of Circuit Judges, the Trial Lawyers Section of The Florida Bar, the State Judges of the 4th Judicial Circuit and the Jacksonville Bar Association, are an important component of the efforts of the local bar and judiciary to promote professional conduct in the practice of law.

Many of the guidelines are applicable to practice in both state and federal court and the judges of this Court encourage all federal practitioners to follow these guidelines (to the extent they are not inconsistent with federal rules of procedure or the Local Rules of this Court) and more importantly, to honor the spirit of the guidelines, which is to act professionally at all times.

The judges of the Court commend the Jacksonville Bar Association and the 4th Judicial Circuit Professionalism Committee for their ongoing efforts to maintain and improve the already high level of professionalism in the practice of law in this community.
