The judicial assistants from the 4th Circuit chose the Family Nurturing Center as their Christmas project this year. Lynn Scroggin, judicial assistant for Judge Tyrie W. Boyer, spearheaded the program. She contacted the center and received a wish list that included a picnic table. The old one had to be removed because it had begun to splinter. Pam Yates contacted Southern Recreation, whose owner, Terry Rogers, sold the group an 8-foot, handicapped-accessible metal picnic table at a discounted rate. That discount allowed the judicial assistants to have money left to buy games, toys and coloring books for the center’s children. The items were delivered Dec. 9.
