Just as the seasons change, the windows at Kuhn’s Flowers have been a changing tradition for more than 50 years. And this year, the July 4 summer windows display brings about a special feeling of America and patriotism.

“The tradition of the Kuhn’s windows dates back to the beginning of the company,” said Tim Cutting, general manager of Kuhn’s Flowers. “This year we decided to have our summer windows display showcase America with the focal point being a tribute to Lady Liberty. Flags, flowers and more come together in a very special way as we salute America.”

Through the decades, Jacksonville citizens and visitors have enjoyed a variety of themes and spectacular arrangements. The Beach Boulevard store has become a tourist stop of sorts and people from all over have made a visit to the holiday windows display a family tradition.

“I can remember when I was a child my parents taking us to see the wonderful decorations at Christmas.” said Jodi Herb, a long-time Kuhn’s window watcher. “It was a nostalgic wonderland.”

“Since our first displays, the windows have become more elaborate. We now involve moving animation and props making each design a living work or art combining static displays with some of the most beautiful and dynamic floral arrangements available each season,” said Cutting.

The display will run through July 31.
