Community involvement: I continually look for ways to support and assist members of our community and make it a better place to live, especially now that I have two small children. I am always looking for more ways to get involved, either through work or community projects.

How did you become involved?

I go through each day looking for ways I can help and encourage the people I encounter.

How can someone else become involved?

Keep your eyes open for opportunities to pitch in the community. Community involvement doesn’t have to be a big, formal leadership role with a set schedule. It can be as simple as helping an elderly neighbor around the house or taking dinner to an acquaintance going through a tough time.

What have you learned/achieved through the experience?

No matter how busy you are, you can always find time to help those around you. Acts of kindness and charity that are small to you may make a big difference to someone else.

What was the last book you read or are reading?

“Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer” along with my nightly rendition of “The Little Blue Truck.”
