Jacksonville Legal Assistants, Inc. will host its annual membership meeting Sept. 5 at River City Brewing Company.
Topics on the agenda include the election and installation of officers for 2002-03, the annual awards ceremony and approval of the budget for the fiscal year. Also, the group will discuss a proposal for a name change of the organization.
The alternative name suggestions are First Coast Paralegal Association (FCPA) or Northeast Florida Paralegal Association. (NEFPA).
Tara L. Sa’id of Hardesty & Tyde, P.A. is the guest speaker and will discuss professional growth and change. Sa’id started her legal career as a paralegal and served as JLA’s first vice president. She later enrolled in Florida Coastal School of Law and graduated in 1999.
