Alan Pickert of Terrell Hogan has been selected as chair of this year’s YMCA Yates Gift Giving Campaign.

“The YMCA is a wonderful nonprofit organization that touches so many lives on the First Coast through their numerous programs that help individuals on every aspect of the age spectrum from toddlers to the elderly,“ Pickert said in a news release.

The campaign’s goal is to raise $115,000 for the 16 programs the YMCA sponsors year-round, including summer camps, swim classes and programs for the elderly.

Pickert is a former president of The Jacksonville Bar Association, ran a pro bono legal program with Jacksonville Area Legal Aid for homeless at the Sulzbacher Center, worked with Special Olympics and is immediate past president of HEAL (“Healing Every Autistic Life”), a nonprofit that helps families dealing with autism disorders.

The Florida Supreme Court chose him several years ago as the outstanding pro bono lawyer in the 4th Judicial Circuit.
