Lucky's Market to open Oakleaf store by June

The grocer plans a hiring fair April 1-May 17 to fill 150 jobs.

Natural foods grocer Lucky’s Market announced Wednesday it will open its OakLeaf Station store at 8380 Merchants Way in May or June.

The store is next to the 12-screen Epic Theatres.

Lucky’s Market, with 17 stores in Florida, opened its first area store in Neptune Beach and 17 stores in Florida.

“We look forward to working with more local producers and farmers, and providing healthful food, resources and a unique shopping experience to people in the Jacksonville area,” said Bo Sharon, who founded Lucky’s Market in 2003 with his wife, Trish.

It is based in Boulder, Colorado, and operates 35 stores in 11 states.

The 30,000-square-foot Oakleaf store in Southwest Jacksonville will include a community room where people can gather and meet.

Lucky's will employ about 150 people and is hiring in all departments.

Candidates can online at luckysmarket.com/careers to schedule and interview during a hiring fair scheduled 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Friday from April 1 through May 17.

The hiring fair will be at Oakleaf Town Center, 9651 Crosshill Blvd., Suite 104, next to Massage Envy). Hiring managers will be on-site.

In addition to shopping, customers can dine in the market's cafe or outdoor seating area. Lucky's also offers “Sip ‘n Stroll” drinks, including cold-pressed nitro coffee or kombucha from the tap, a $2 pint of beer or a $3 glass of wine.
