Max Marbut, associate editor of legal affairs for the Jacksonville Daily Record and the Jacksonville Record & Observer, was presented the Liberty Bell Award given annually by the Jacksonville Bar Association.

Marbut has “fostered greater understanding of the legal community, helps the community understand legal issues and the mission of the JBA and makes it possible for the community to see us,” said Law Week Committee Chair Kelli Lueckert.

The award is presented annually to a nonlawyer who demonstrates commitment to the legal community, promotes a better understanding of the law, encourages respect for the law and courts, stimulates civic responsibility or contributes to good government.
