Mayor Lenny Curry announced Oct. 27 he will extend the Duval County mask mandate another 30 days until Nov. 26 to help curb the spread of COVID-19.

The order declares that every person more than 6 years old must wear a mask when in an indoor place or when not able to socially distance by 6 feet.

The mandate has been extended four times since it was put in place June 29.

It was set to expire at 5 p.m. Oct. 27.

Curry’s proclamation leaves it to businesses and commercial property owners to ensure operators, employees and customers wear face coverings.
