Applications are being sought to fill a judicial vacancy in the County Court of Clay County as a result of the death of the Honorable L. Thomas McAnnally.

An applicant must be a registered Florida voter and have been a member in good standing of The Florida Bar for the preceding five years. In addition, any applicant chosen by the governor must reside in Clay County upon assuming office. Application forms are available by downloading the application from The Florida Bar’s website — www.flabar.com — or from Commission Chair Christine A. Clark, Esquire, One Independent Dr., Suite 1900, Jacksonville, 32202; phone (904) 358-8881.

An original and nine copies of the completed application must be received by Clark no later that noon Monday, Nov. 18 at One Independent Dr., Suite 1900, Jacksonville 32202. Interviews will take place Dec. 17 in the Duval County Courthouse, Room 220. Applications will be screened by the 4th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission, which must send at least three names to the Governor.

Members currently serving on the 4th Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission are Christine A. Clark, Peter D. Sleiman, Cleve E. Warren, Angela B. Corey, Terrance James, Terrance E. Schmidt, Mary Bland Love, Michael H. Stokes and Joel B. Toomey.
