• Glynn Wimberly has been promoted to vice president/chief executive officer of the Financial Divisions of the Scott-McRae Group. Wimberly has worked with the Scott-McRae Group since 1992, holding the position of president/chief operating officer for U.S. Auto Credit since 1998.

• Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum is hosting an exhibition on Mars June 25-Aug. 30.

• spiller vincenty gallery is hosting Dark Winter, an exhibition by Daniel Newman, through July 11.

• Susie Slappey, chief financial officer of the Pitman Companies, has been named volunteer chairman for the Community Nutcracker Inc. for the Nutcracker Ballet Dec. 5-8 at the Florida Theatre. Slappey has been involved with the Community Nutcracker for the last five years, at the same time her children, Erin, 14, and Carli, 11, have been dancers in the show. She was previously chairman of the 2001 BellSouth Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament and Festival.

• Supervisors of elections in Clay, Duval, Nassau and St. Johns counties started a voter education campaign Wednesday to register and educate voters in Northeast Florida. The goal of the campaign is to encourage qualified citizens to register to vote or change their registration if they have moved or had a name change.
