• Dr. Robert Lufrano has been elected president of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida. He also serves as chief operating officer.

• JEA is sponsoring a live interactive show about water and energy conservation at area elementary schools through May 3. The show, “Search for the Mountain Fountain,” is performed by actors from the National Theatre for Children. The actors present conservation and safety concepts in a way that children can understand. Last year’s program reached about 56,000 students at 157 elementary schools.

• The business center at Jacksonville International Airport has reopened. LaptopLane’s JIA location closed in August because of restructuring and has now reopened as Business Center Plus. The center offers Internet and computer access, phone and fax service, copies and a conference room.

• The Rotaract Club is hosting its annual Big Brothers Big Sisters picnic at Westside Regional Park April 6 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. For information, call 384-6346.

• Boys Hope of Florida named Dan Curran and Denise Johnson to its board of directors. Curran is a partner at KPMG and directs the company’s health care risk and advisory services. Johnson is a technical writer/editor at Concurrent Technologies Corporation. Other board members are John J. Harrington, John Murray, Josephine Flaherty, Ed Buenaga, Dr. Robert S. Franco, Christopher J. Karpinski, Sam Kouvaris, Michael J. Lanahan, Chantal Littleton, Stephen J. Lynch Jr., Peter Moore, William Wandmacher and Michael Zambetti.
