• Axcess Sports & Entertainment has named Gary A. Jacobus executive vice president. Jacobus has worked in the professional sports industry for more than 10 years, spending seven years with the National Football League and three years with International Management Group (IMG).

• Brian Wilson has been named director of emergency services for Baptist Medical Center. Wilson comes to Baptist from Charlotte, where he was manager of emergency services for Rowan Regional Medical Center.

• Actor Ossie Davis is the scheduled speaker at the Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship luncheon at the University of North Florida Feb. 22. Tickets are $15 for students, $33 for non-students. The luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. at the University Center. Davis will also appear at a reception at the Ritz Theatre and LaVilla Museum Feb. 21 from 6-9 p.m. A contribution of $50 is requested.

• TriLegacy Group, LLC, the developer of The Shipyards project, has name Hamilton Traylor president. Traylor has been involved in The Shipyards project for the last two years.

• The Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville has begun its funding round for 2002-03 whereby City grants are administered. To apply for a grant, call 358-3600.

• Claudia Coley has been named branch manager of the Jacksonville office of The Reserves Network, which specializes in temporary staffing, permanent placements and human resources consultation.
