• The Greater Jacksonville Fair Association has elected it 2002-03 officers and directors. J. Bryan Cooksey Jr. is the new chairman and C. Guy Bond is the chairman-elect. Other officers are Charles M. Acree, Robert L. Hill Jr. and L. David Shore, vice chairmen; Rande M. LeFevre, treasurer and Richard F. LaMee, secretary. Directors at large are Warren Alverez, Dan Jones, Herman O. Jones, Kenneth D. Sherwood, John H. Wood and Harold C. Jones. Gary L. Roegner, who has been the Fair’s general manager for the last 21 years, was named chief executive officer

• Bonar Engineering & Construction has completed engineering for the refrigeration addition project at the Publix Super Markets distribution center. The addition will add 75,143 square feet of perishable storage to the facility.

• The Jacksonville Business and Professional Women’s Club is scheduled to meet Feb. 19 at noon at the Radisson. Evelyn Penny, director of Action Ministries Plus, is the speaker. Cost is $12 and reservations are required. Call 264-4969 for information.

• The Sailboat Club will host a two-hour seminar Feb. 21 at Twin Lakes Academy at 6:30 p.m. Topics include wind and storm development, information sources and weather forecasting. Andrew Shashy of the National Weather Service is the speaker. For information, call 886-7244.

• The Jacksonville Urban League Auxiliary and Council of Past Presidents will host a membership drive and reception Feb. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the Haskell Building. Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. For information, call 366-3461.

• Springfield Preservation and Restoration is hosting “Valentine’s Dinner to Die For,” a live murder mystery, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Springfield Woman’s Club. Cost is $25 per person and reservations are required. For information, call 301-1232.

• The First Coast African American Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Heritage Breakfast Feb. 22 at 8 a.m. at the Radisson. Tickets are $35 per person, $500 per table for non-members and $350 per table for members. For information, call 358-9090.
