• The Jacksonville chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association has elected its new board of directors. They are Lanette Hart, president; Kim Deppe, president-elect; Chase Ulrich, vice president/image; Dawn Emerick, vice president/programs; Deborah Lee, secretary; Kelly King, treasurer; Anne Dubois, vice president/accreditation and certification; Trista Wallace, immediate past president; Trish Ridgway-Kapustka, student chapter president; John Harrell, marketing/public relations chair; Celeste Pattee, membership chair; D. Reese Riggle, communications chair; and Nancy E. Dohn, state chapter liaison.

• Sight and Sound has hired the McCormick Agency to handle its public relations.

• Jacksonville Marine Charities, Inc. has named its new board of directors for 2002-03. They are Carol W. Pitman, chairman; William Whittaker, vice chairman; Stephen A. Hould, treasurer; Robert M. Gipson, secretary; and Howard A. Collins, tournament chairman.

• The Florida Community College Legal Studies Institute is hosting an open house Nov. 6 from 6:30-8 p.m. at the FCCJ Kent Campus for prospective legal assisting students. The legal assisting program is for students who wish to seek employment in the legal or criminal justice field as paraprofessionals or for secretaries who wish to assume paraprofessional duties.
