• Robin Sorensen, CEO and co-founder of Firehouse Subs, has been appointed to the Police Athletic League board of directors. Sorensen will serve a five-year term.
• The Rotary Club of Arlington has installed its officers for 2002-03. • For the 62nd consecutive year, the National Bible Association is sponsoring National Bible Week. This year it’s Nov. 24-Dec. 1 and Dick Murphy, NBA chair and mayor of San Diego, is asking the City of Jacksonville to participate by issuing a proclamation.

• Filip Feller has been named chief financial officer and senior vice president at Monticello Bank.
• Sandy Friend has been named national director of training for The Loop Pizza Grill. Friend will be responsible for developing and implementing constructive training programs for new employees and will act as liaison for additional training resources to better train existing employees.
• Trish Ridgway-Kapustka has joined the Kurtis Group as director of business strategy. She will be responsible for account management, new business development and marketing and public relations strategy.
