• Operation New Hope will host a “New Year’s Tour — A Salute to Teachers” today from 2-6 p.m. to introduce school teachers to purchasing a home in Springfield. The tour begins at Bethel Baptist Institutional Church and will be led by City Council member Pat Lockett-Felder. Trolley transportation is provided. Funding for the project is provided by the City’s Housing Services Division and the Duval County Housing Finance Authority. For information, call 354-4673.

• Lynda Lewis, president of the Schultz Center for Teaching and Leadership, is the speaker at Monday’s Rotary Club meeting at 12:30 p.m. at the Omni.

• The Meninak Club first meeting of the year is scheduled for Jan. 14 at the Radisson with the installation of officers. Ted Pappas completes his term as president, passing the gavel to Marcelle Lovett, director of the University Center at the University of North Florida.

• Theatre Jacksonville is holding auditions for “You Can’t Take it With You” Jan. 21 at 7 p.m. at Theatre Jacksonville, 2032 San Marco Blvd. There are roles available for 12 men and seven women. Copies of the play are available in the theater office and can be borrowed for a $10 deposit. For information, call 396-4425.
