• Mark Gruszecki has been named president of the Business Development Corporation of Northeast Florida, which is a nonprofit corporation sponsored by the Northeast Florida Regional Planning Council to market, process and service the Small Business Administration’s loan program for small businesses.

• Volunteer Jacksonville plans to unveil its new website Wednesday at 11 a.m. at FCCJ’s Kent Campus. The website, www.volunteergatewayjacksonville.com, will provide information on local organizations that need volunteers.

• The United Way will hold its Community Call to Action Rally Friday at noon in Hemming Plaza. The goal is to help close the United Way’s $400,000 funding gap.

• Joy M. Mills has been named director of public relations strategy for BurdetteB2B, a local marketing, consulting and communications firm. Mills will be responsible for developing public relations positioning, brand promotions and communications strategies and managing these programs for the firm’s clients.
