• Jacksonville Jaguars safety Donovin Darius has been named the October recipient of the Morgan Stanley Community Leader award, which is presented monthly during the NFL season to the Jaguars player that demonstrates exemplary community involvement. Darius is involved in several community activities, including Safe Harbor Boys Home and Hubbard House.

• Adriana Burke has been named account executive at The McCormick Agency. She graduated in May from the University of North Florida. Also, Gallery Eclectic Bistro has retained the agency to handle public and media relations and image enhancement. The bistro opened in March at Tinseltown.

• Students from LaVilla School of the Arts will display a creation-themed art exhibition at the T-U Center as part of the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Haydn’s “The Creation.”

• The Exchange Club of Jacksonville will honor students of the month from Bishop Kenny High School at its luncheon meeting Thursday at the Hilton. Cost is $11. For information, call 384-1948.

• Mike Hollingsworth of St. Johns Riverkeeper is the scheduled speaker at the Beaches Democratic Club meeting Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. at the Beaches Library in Neptune Beach. For information, call 249-9550.

• The Jacksonville Ballet Theatre opens its 32nd season Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m. with a performance of “Don Quixote & Othello” at The Ritz Theatre. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors. For information, call 646-4075.

• Attorney Connie Renee Clay is hosting a free family law seminar today at 5:30 and 7:15 p.m. at the Adam’s Mark Hotel. The seminar will address child support, child custody and visitation.

• Trains!, the new exhibition at the Museum of Science & History, opens Friday and runs through Jan. 13.

• The Mayor’s Holiday Festival for Senior Citizens is scheduled for Dec. 2 from 2-6 p.m. at the Osborn Center. A traditional holiday turkey dinner, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus and entertainment by the Class Act Band are just some of the planned activities. • Portrait artist Camille has moved her photography studio and gallery from San Marco Square to Beach Plaza in Jacksonville Beach.

• St. Catherine Laboure’ Manor is holding its poinsettia sale through Nov. 29. Each plant is $7, with proceeds benefiting the residents. Plants will be available for pick up Dec. 6 and 7 in the activity room at St. Catherine’s. Call 308-4744 to place an order.
