• The Rotaract Club of Florida’s First Coast is holding a membership drive Thursday at 6 p.m. at the Haskell Building. Mayor John Delaney is the speaker. All professionals ages 22-35 are invited to attend. For information, call Paola Parra at 398-9002.

• The Museum of Science and History will host Chemistry Explorathon 2001 Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Explorathon 2001 is part of a nationwide event designed to help the public better understand the importance of chemistry through educational activities.

• The Jacksonville Tomcats dance team, The Kittens, will hold open auditions for the 2002 squad tonight at 7 p.m. at Bailey’s Powerhouse Gym in Baymeadows. Tryouts are $30 per applicant. Proper dance attire is required. For information, call 358-7825, Ext. 140.
