The Jacksonville Bar Association is now part of a trend that began nearly 30 years ago and since become a popular way to connect ideas with people through technology.

Podcasts have been around in some form since the 1980s. They began to take hold when Apple added podcasts to iTunes in 2005.

According to podcastinsights.com there are currently more than 2 million of them. That is a lot of podcasts.

The JBA’s podcasts allow members and the public to learn about the people in the association, including our local judges.

Did you know that JBA President Michael Orr enjoys V Pizza or that The Florida Bar President Michael Tanner enjoys eating at the Palm Valley Fish Camp and The Cheesecake Factory at the St. Johns Town Center?

You can learn more about Orr and Tanner, what brought them to Jacksonville, why they became lawyers and more in our new podcasts.

The videos debut on our YouTube channel at jaxbar.org/youtube. The audio-only version subscription links are available at jaxbar.org/podcast and in our weekly email.

One of the questions we have gotten is how it is decided who gets to be on the podcast. It is a member benefit. We welcome all of our members to be a guest, share their stories and promote their firm and practice.

You can contact me at [email protected] or (904) 399-4486 and we will get you scheduled to come in for a recording.

We hope you tune in soon.
