Grumpy’s Restaurant is adding a franchise in Clay County.

It will be owned by Clay County natives Michael and Tracy Yarbrough.

No location was announced.

It will be the fifth Grumpy’s location, with two open in Orange Park and Middleburg in Clay County; one coming to St. Johns County; and another coming to Wildlight in Nassau County.

Grumpy’s President and CEO Daniel DeLeon said the group is looking at Clay County sites in Green Cove Springs and Fleming Island and outside the county in World Golf Village, Julington Creek, Palatka and near Naval Air Station Jacksonville.

Hurd to manage Human Bean project

Hurd Construction Management is the construction manager for the proposed Human Bean, a 600-square-foot drive-thru coffee shop along Blanding Boulevard opposite Bear Run Boulevard in Orange Park in Clay County.

Hurd Construction is acting as the adviser and owner’s representative for the project.

The pre-construction schedule is expected to take about five months.

HCM is using modular construction to pre-fabricate the building off-site.
