Culhane’s Irish Pub 2 LLC seeks a zoning exception for on-premises consumption of all alcoholic beverages with outside service at 9720 Deer Lake Court in the Tinseltown area.

Culhane’s bought the former Tilted Kilt building to open its second location.

The first is at 967 Atlantic Blvd. in Atlantic Beach.

The city issued a permit Oct. 12 for a $252,000 project to renovate the restaurant and an outdoor fireplace.

Notes

• While Krystal is planning to demolish and rebuild several stores in Jacksonville, the 8151 Beach Blvd. location is not one of them. The store closed Sept. 9. Krystal leased it and continues to control the site, intending to sublease to another business. Krystal Chief Real Estate Officer Mike Wood said the store was more than 40 years old. It had traffic challenges at the midblock location. With three other stores within 3 miles, the company decided to “close this location and reinvest capital into other parts of our Jacksonville market.”  He said Jacksonville is a key market “and we are committed to this market for the long term.”

Gator’s Dockside intends to join OakLeaf Station. A pending building permit shows the 7,554-square-foot restaurant on 1.25 acres at 8316 Merchants Way.  The city issued a site-clearing permit.

The Posting House LLC applied for a permit to build-out space at 2018 Hendricks Ave. in San Marco for a beer and wine pub. It’s in the former Mezze Mediterranean Grill building. The $120,000 project is for a British-style pub expected to open about January. Owner Judith Green applied for a certificate of use that describes the 1,500-square-foot, 53-seat business as an English-style pub serving beer, wine, tea, coffee and light snacks.
