Gov. Rick Scott congratulates David Allgood for his work at Sunoptic Technologies during a visit to the manufacturing plant Monday at 6018 Bowdendale Ave. It produces medical devices using fiber optic technology. Scott was promoting Enterprise Florida Inc., a public-private partnership that provides incentives, training and international marketing efforts for businesses in the state. Scott said Sunoptic, which employs 76 people at its Jacksonville headquarters, has participated in some of Enterprise Florida’s trade mission trips to Germany, Asia and the Middle East. Scott also chastised the Legislature for not fulfilling his $85 million funding request for Enterprise Florida. Lawmakers set aside $16 million instead.
