The city approved development plans Dec. 5 for the proposed 1.1 million-square-foot Imeson Industrial Building E on about 53 acres at 10501 Cold Storage Road, Unit 500, in Imeson Park.

VanTrust Real Estate LLC, through JI Imeson Industrial LLC, is the property owner and developer of the north Jacksonville site.

Plans show the building at 1,106,560 square feet, but no tenant is identified. The city issued a permit Nov. 1 for the building foundation at a job cost of $100,000. Evans General Contractors of Alpharetta, Georgia, is the contractor.

VanTrust Executive Vice President John Carey said in November that no tenant has been signed and the development timing has not been determined.

“We just want to be able to respond very quickly,” he said.

Carey said this week he had no update.

Plans indicate the facility will provide parking for 222 vehicles and 550 trailers and will include a small portion within the building for the main office. Building E is part of the 3 million square feet of development rights VanTrust has at the park.
