Nicki Joy, national motivational speaker, drew a large crowd at last month’s Northeast Florida Builders Association’s Sales and Marketing Council’s meeting held at the Marriott Southpoint.
It’s a new year and new president Jim DelVecchio of Home South Mortgage made a few changes in the meeting.
He rallied the group to make noise and waving flags about how great their last year was. The room erupted in whoops and cheering as each side of the room competed in the cheering contest.
He skipped (or forgot) the hugging session following the Pledge of Allegiance, made sure the meeting went smoothly and ended it by 9:30 a.m.
DelVecchio said he would like to increase membership during his tenure as president and would everyone to get involved in committees.
Joy had the audience in stitches with her raw look at everyday life. She gave the group an upbeat abbreviated version of her speech with a seminar following the meeting.
