San Marco residents got a sneak peak Wednesday at the renovated San Marco Branch Library. There was also a dedication ceremony for the adjoining Balis Community Center. The library is the second major project — the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville was first — to be completed under the Better Jacksonville Plan and features an upgrade in space from 7,540 to 11,440 square feet, 34 computers and extended hours. The Balis Community Center includes a multi-purpose room that seats 125 and four classrooms. Mayor John Delaney joined other City leaders, members of the library’s board of directors and other important contributors to the project to celebrate its completion. The library’s grand opening and public reception is Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
