The city issued a permit Nov. 1 for Emerald C’s Development Inc. to build-out a 2,275-square-foot former Pizza Hut for Southern Steer Butcher at 5421 Roosevelt Blvd. at a project cost of $200,000.

Southern Steer Butcher says it offers “fresh cuts of quality meat from sustainable farms. Whether you’re looking for roasts, wings, steak tips, or sides, our artisanal meats are a cut above the rest.”

Southernsteer.com says the Jacksonville location “is currently undergoing renovations to bring you the BEST Butcher Shop around. Opening late 2022.”

There are shops in Orlando, Sarasota and Clearwater.

President Greg Snyder founded Southern Steer Butcher LLC in Clearwater in 2013. The company franchises.

The Jacksonville location is owned by What’s One More LLC, led by Chris and Simone Croft.
