Southside Assembly of God buys site for new sanctuary

Church near San Marco making way for apartments.

Southside Assembly of God, which sold its San Marco area property in March for development of San Marco Crossing, intends to build a 24,000-square-foot, 450-seat sanctuary on about 5.1 acres it bought Aug. 8 for $1.45 million at 6851 Southpoint Parkway.

Pastor Milton Dykes said construction starts in November and the church will remain in San Marco through June.
