After months of repairs, the St. Johns River Ferry will return to service Nov. 1.

The Jacksonville Transportation Authority began working on the ferry vessel, the Jean Ribault, in September.

The project also is replacing slip walls, fenders, walkways and bulkheads.

The ferry connects the north and south ends of Florida A1A at Mayport Village.
