Rogers Towers shareholder Eric Holshouser was elected a fellow of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

Fellows are recognized as distinguished members of the labor and employment community who promote achievement, advancement and excellence in the practice by setting standards of professionalism and civility by sharing their experience and knowledge and by acting as a resource for academia, the government, the judiciary and the community at large, according to the college’s website.

Holshouser is board-certified by The Florida Bar and chairs the Workplace Health and Safety Committee of the Labor and Employment Law Section.

The college is represented by about 1,600 members in the U.S., Puerto Rico and Canada. 

It was established in 1995 to advocate for the legal profession’s importance to labor and employment law, individual rights, collective bargaining and dispute resolution.

Volunteer essay graders needed

The Jacksonville Chapter of the Federal Bar Association seeks volunteers to grade submissions in the third annual High School Essay Contest.

The entries will be provided to graders by Oct. 2 and need to be graded by Oct. 13. A grading rubric and directions to streamline the process will be provided.

The essay contest is open to students in grades 10-12 living in Baker, Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Duval, Flagler, Hamilton, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, Suwannee and Union counties.

Essays must be submitted by noon Sept. 25. Visit flmd.uscourts.gov for more information about this year’s prizes and the entry documents.
