RaceTrac Petroleum Inc. continues to add locations.

RaceTrac Petroleum, with several sites in review around Jacksonville, wants to add a store at Baymeadows Road and Baymeadows Way in the Deerwood area.

Atlanta-based RaceTrac wants to develop a 5,411-square-foot gas station and convenience store on 1.4 acres at 8715 Baymeadows Road on property owned by Wells Fargo.

The city is reviewing plans. Connelly & Wicker Inc. is the civil engineering consultant.

It’s at least the fourth new RaceTrac under construction or in planning.

RaceTrac is building at Gateway Village at Gate Parkway and Deerwood Park Boulevard and is working on plans for stores at Buck Business Park in Arlington and at University Boulevard West and Richard Street in Southside.

RaceTrac operates at least 17 stores in Northeast Florida.

The company is expanding as Wawa Inc. is opening the first wave of what it expects will total up to 40 Northeast Florida locations.

Jacksonville-based Gate Petroleum Co. and First Coast Energy also continue to add or upgrade stores.

The city calculated a mobility fee of $186,738 for the RaceTrac at Baymeadows Road.

That fee is calculated for a 5,500-square-foot RaceTrac with 16 fueling stations in place of the almost 5,700-square-foot bank building with five teller lanes.

The purpose of the fee is to offset traffic impact.
