Thirteen selected for U.S. judge interviews

Six of the 13 applicants chosen to interview Aug. 4 for a U.S. District judge seat in the Middle District of Florida have Jacksonville connections.

City of Jacksonville General Counsel Cindy Laquidara will be the first interviewed at 9 a.m. and Circuit Judge Brian Davis will be the last at 3:30 p.m.

U.S. Magistrate Judges Monte Richardson and Joel Toomey and attorneys Bryan Gowdy and Brian Albritton, a former U.S. Attorney for the Middle District of Florida, will also be interviewed.

The Florida Federal Judicial Nominating Commission selected the applications from a pool of 28. The interviews will be in Orlando.
