Tru by Hilton is adding a hotel in the Bowden area near Southpoint in South Jacksonville.

The city issued a permit Sept. 7 for AJ’s Development Enterprises to build the four-story, 45,147-square-foot hotel at 4945 Lenoir Ave. at a cost of $6 million.

The city previously calculated a mobility fee of $80,640 for a proposed 98-room Tru by Hilton hotel at the site. The development includes a pool.

Dhimant Soni of Lake City is the developer. He is manager of OMSHIV JAX LLC.

William E. Tully III Inc. is the civil engineer.

The Hilton.com site shows two area Tru by Hilton hotels near South Mandarin and St. Johns Town Center. Room start from $102 and $121.

Hilton.com says the Tru by Hilton rooms features open shelves, doorless closets and woodlike flooring with a large TV and premium channels.

Lobbies offer pool, foosball, drinks, snacks and nooks. There are fitness centers.
