UNF hosts 2010 Florida International Business Summit

The 2010 Florida International Business Summit “Opportunities in a Transformed Global Economy” is March 2 at the University of North Florida’s University Center. Dr. Alek Nowak from Warsaw University and John Lafond from Deutsche Bank are among the scheduled speakers.

The summit, sponsored by UNF, University of Florida, Florida Network for Global Studies, Jacksonville Port Authority, U.S. Department of Education and others will focus on clean technologies and existing manufacturing, professional services in the fields of biomedical, engineering and logistics, as well as new markets focused in Asia, Latin America, North and South Africa.

With the theme of “Opportunities in a Transformed Global Economy,” the summit’s purpose is to provide a forum for key players from Florida’s ports, economic development and transportation agencies, private industry, and academia to discuss new opportunities in international trade and how key players are setting trends doing business with non-traditional markets.

Confirmed speakers include Donna Cunninghame, former executive of Windera Power Systems; Michael Turwitt, CENERGY; Matthew Kenyon, Kenyon Energy; Nancy Skaran, Mayo Clinic; Kennon Holmes, Stellar Group; Terry Harber, CEVA; Kam Shah, U.S. Department of Commerce; Tongila Manly, Enterprise Florida; Terry McCoy, University of Florida; and Dave Woodward, Florida-China Association.
