Wayfair Inc. is posting more job openings for what appears to be the Jacksonville launch of what it calls a Large Parcel Home Delivery Operation.

Having posted a job in late August for a “Launch Lead,” the Boston-based online home furnishings retailer listed openings Sept. 7 for a “Launch Supervisor” and a “Launch Specialist” for sites that include Jacksonville.

No salaries were listed. The postings on indeed.com link to the Wayfair site for those wanting to apply.

“Wayfair is investing heavily to create the first-ever national large parcel supply chain all the way to the consumer’s home,” say the postings.

Wayfair provides a selection of more than 10 million items among home furnishings, décor, home improvement, housewares and more categories.

The launch specialist for the large parcel home delivery operations “will play a key role in this strategic initiative, helping to develop and run a network of best-in-class asset-based final mile sites within the US and Canada.”

Responsibilities include developing and training an administrative team in a launch environment and the role to “directly influence a team of site leaders, warehouse staff and Home Delivery Concierges during a new building launch.”

The launch supervisor will “create a culture of safety and productivity at a new site launch.” Responsibilities include training and providing “consistent structure to the office staff in a launch and support environment.”

The position is a floor position and will involve physical movement of products as well as supervising the “functions and working of the warehouse workers.”

Both jobs require the ability to travel.

“Wayfair is redefining the way customers buy online and one of the key pillars of that strategy is to create a truly differentiated customer experience for large parcel items (e.g., couches, vanities),” the postings say.

The jobs were posted to include Jacksonville and the position applies to “various locations throughout the United States.”

No specific Jacksonville location was identified in the posting, although two 1.5 million-square-foot warehouses are in review at AllianceFlorida at Cecil Commerce Center for unidentified users.

Wayfair and the city have not confirmed a Jacksonville distribution center. AllianceFlorida’s representative has declined comment.

The launch lead posting says Wayfair is looking for “leaders who can help disrupt the status quo and redefine an industry.”

The person hired for launch lead will play a key leadership role in the strategic initiative, the posting says.

Wayfair previously posted job openings for a warehouse supervisor for a Jacksonville center to manage and oversee the operations and for a process quality manager.
