Whataburger adding two more Jacksonville restaurants

The Texas chain already has six locations in Northeast Florida.

Two Whataburgers are coming to opposite sides of Duval County, increasing the number of Northeast Florida locations to eight.

The city is reviewing permit applications for Whataburger in Oakleaf Corner in Southwest Jacksonville and Atlantic North in East Arlington.

The city is reviewing a permit application for Whataburger at 8239 Old Middleburg Road S. at an estimated cost of $1.7 million. 

The 3,205-square-foot restaurant is planned on 1.61 acres at northeast Old Middleburg Road South and Argyle Forest Boulevard in Oakleaf Corner. No contractor is listed.

The Atlantic North location at 11559 Atlantic Blvd. is at northwest Atlantic and Kernan boulevards in East Arlington.

No contractor is listed for the 3,760-square-foot project on 1.25 acres at an estimated project cost of $1 million.

San Antonio-based Whataburger has more than 840 restaurants in 10 states. Its first six area locations are along Philips Highway, Normandy Boulevard and Beach Boulevard in Jacksonville and in Neptune Beach, Orange Park and Yulee.
