Woody’s Bar-B-Q is taking over the former Sticky Fingers Ribhouse in Baymeadows.

Woody’s franchise owner Jack Dunsmoor said Monday the restaurant is scheduled to open June 18 and employ 80 people.

“It’s a great area for growth and development,” Dunsmoor said.

Job openings on Craigslist seek employees for all positions, including cooks, servers, bartenders, cashiers and dishwashers at the location.

The city approved three sign permits by Custom Graphics & Sign Design for Woody’s at 8129 Point Meadows Way, off Interstate 295. The property is owned by Sticky Jax LLC.

Dunsmoor said he is investing about $300,000 into the project, which involves cosmetic changes, seating and equipment.

Sticky Fingers closed the location in June 2017, he said. Dunsmoor said he is leasing with an option to buy the site.

Sticky Jax LLC built Sticky Fingers near Point Meadows Plaza in 2004. The 5,271-square-foot restaurant space is topped by 959 square feet of upstairs office space.

This is Dunsmoor’s third Woody’s franchise. The first two are along Powers Avenue near Philips Highway and in Macclenny.

Jacksonville-based Woody’s Bar-B-Q includes an East Beltway location as “coming soon” on its woodys.com site of locations.

The Woody’s site shows 19 locations in four states, primarily in Florida, and five more coming soon.

Sticky Fingers continues to operate one Jacksonville restaurant in River City Marketplace in North Jacksonville.

Sticky Fingers is based in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. It operates 11 locations in four states, with the only Florida restaurant in Jacksonville.
