George Varkanis’ day job is as a health and physical education teacher in Jacksonville.
His off-duty passion, though, is photography.
Since moving here from Pennsylvania a year ago, that passion has strengthened, he said.
As these photos show, Varkanis has mastered capturing sunrises and sunsets all over Duval County.
The sun has shared the frame with piers, palm trees, lamp posts, skylines and even the Wells Far-
go building Downtown.
“I currently challenge myself to get the best photos I can get throughout Jacksonville on my free time,” he said.
