Crosswinds Communities has signed on at Palencia to build condominiums.

The Michigan company has developed condominium, townhome and single-family home communities in six states including California, North Carolina, Virginia, Arizona and Florida. Bernard Glieberman, who grew up in a family of builders, founded the company in 1971.

“Crosswinds has been in the building and developing business for over three decades,” said Walter O’Shea, the project manager for Hines at Palencia. “Their company’s focus is on quality, value and customer satisfaction, which parallels our own thinking at Hines. They’ve shown us that they are an innovative, detail-oriented company, and we at Hines feel this makes them a great fit for an addition to Palencia.”

The Crosswinds sub-community, located near Palencia’s front entrance on U.S. 1 in northern St. Johns County, will be gated. Residents will have access to the amenities inside Palencia.

The community is slated for completion at the end of 2004 with priority reservations beginning after the first of the year. Homes are expected to be offered in two styles, with colony homes priced from the $150s and larger terrace homes starting from the $270s. Current plans call for 290 total residences.
