Boyd Worsham and The Haskell Company are strong supporters of students in the construction trades, including Northeast Florida Builders Association apprentices. Worsham and The Haskell Company were recognized for their efforts by being named NEFBA Members of the Month in May.
Worsham and The Haskell Company hosted a luncheon for approximately 200 Clay County high school construction students, their instructors and Clay County School Board personnel.
Other NEFBA trades contractors also were invited. Mark Nechvatal of Allstate Electrical Contractors and John Griffin of United Electric Company represented their trade.
Worsham and The Haskell Company have hosted the Clay County carpentry students at a year-end dinner for several years. This year, all the construction trades and NEFBA apprenticeship representatives were invited as well.
The purpose of the event is to stimulate interest in the construction industry as a career choice.
“Boyd delivered a great presentation,” said Laura Laseman, NEFBA training director. “He cited the many benefits of the industry and encouraged the students to continue pursuit of the trades. We consider Boyd and The Haskell Company great assets to trades training initiatives.”
Worsham and Steve Halverson, president and CEO of The Haskell Company, accepted the award.
