Collins Builders has reported year-end sales up from 2007 and it has expanded its communities from eight to 11 during 2008.

According to Chief Operating Officer Wayland Wiseman, the locally-owned homebuilder is projected to close 147 homes this year compared to 132 homes last year, an increase of more than 10 percent.

During 2008, Collins Builders expanded its services into several new Northeast Florida communities including Benton Lakes in Mandarin and Adams Lake and Bonita Cove, both on Jacksonville’s Westside.

The other communities are Bainebridge Estates, Dunn Creek Plantation and Hayden Lakes on the Northside; Blackwood Forest in Mandarin; Grey Stone between Glen St. Mary and Macclenny; Magnolia West in Green Cove Springs; and McGirts Village West and Trails at Bent Creek on the Westside.

The company builds homes priced from the $118,000s that range in size from 1,013 square feet to 3,815 square feet.
