Proving for yet another year why it is the nation’s number one homebuilder, DR Horton topped other industry “heavy hitters” with six Laurel honors and 14 “Million Dollar Circle” awards during the 14th Annual 2007 Laurel Awards competition. Representatives of the company collected the awards in April at the Hyatt Regency Riverfront in downtown Jacksonville.

Themed “Competition or Murder: A Laurel Mystery,” the awards ceremony noted the tough competition among Northeast Florida’s real estate industry professionals to be the “Best of the Best” in their respective fields. Each year, the hottest local talent in building, design, sales and marketing is recognized, with guests from all segments of the First Coast development and homebuilding industry in attendance.

“These outstanding achievements are a testament to our team’s unparalleled dedication to our customers and to our corporate family,” said Andy Fremento, DR Horton North Florida Division president. “We are tremendously proud of each and every member of our team, from marketing, sales and administration to field and project personnel. On behalf of DR Horton, I extend our heartfelt thanks to them for their benchmark professionalism, teamwork, customer care and collective integrity.”

With exciting momentum, DR Horton collected six Laurel Awards in two achievement categories:

In Individual Achievement, Amber King received the Laurel Award for “Builder/Developer Member of the Year.” Lisa Dennis received the Laurel Award for “Sales Manager of the Year.” New home sales associates Suzanne Massey, Jason Brooks and John Haden received the Laurel Award for “Site Agent of the Year – Partnership/Team.” Scott McLaughlin received the Laurel Award for “Builder Lender of the Year.” Anita Knight received the Laurel Award for “Top Producer of the Year – Builder/Lender.” Carol Bramer and Laura Huesgen received the Laurel Award for “Top Producer of the Year – Builder/Developer (Attached Homes-Partnership/Team).”

In Sales Achievement, the DR Horton team earned 14 “Million Dollar Circle” Awards in the following categories:

• $3 Million - $5 Million – Jason Coston, Rob Bechtold and Terri McElroy

• $5 Million - $7 Million – Jim Slavin and Robert Woods

• $7 Million - $10 Million – Cathy Scott, Daryl Gilbert, Eddie Crosby, Glenn Brotsker, Jason Brooks, Suzanne Massey and Pamela Polowy

• Over $10 Million – Carol Bramer and Laura Huesgen

The Laurel Awards is hosted by the Northeast Florida Builders Association (NEFBA) Sales and Marketing Council (SMC). DR Horton was recognized as a 2007 Corporate Sponsor for the event. DR Horton Marketing Director Amber King served as a 2007 Laurel Committee member, and served as the Laurel chairperson in 2005 and 2006.

“We are always very happy to support NEFBA and SMC in its efforts to promote our industry and recognize the achievements of our colleagues and peers,” said Amber King, marketing director for DR Horton. “We look forward to many more years of great partnership opportunities.”
