The goal was 100 new members.

And seven teams of hard-working, determined NEFBA members surpassed that goal, with 103 new members joining NEFBA during the 2015 membership drive.

From May 12-21, the competitive spirit of NEFBA’s members filled the air, culminating in the intense Call-a-Thon from the NEFBA offices. Adding 103 new members brings the association to 1,141 members.

“I am extremely proud of the results, and I applaud the effort and teamwork that made it happen,” said Executive Director Corey Deal. “There’s no limit to what we can do when the commitment and determination of our members are directed toward a common goal.”

The winning team, NEFBA BOARD, racked up 41 points and consisted of team captain Rick Morales (Morales Construction), Matt Devereaux (Lennar), Tony Raso (D.S. Ware Homes), Chris Dostie (Dostie Homes), Matt McLauchlin (Nelson Mullins), Rodney Christensen (Liberty National Life), Charles Jimerson (Jimerson & Cobb), Tim Adkinson (Adkinson Engineering, P.A.), Amy Sterling (American Enterprise Bank), Jeff King (King Construction Company) and Pete Steinmetz (Turner Pest Control).

Morales, Devereaux, Raso, Dostie, McLauchlin, Christensen and Jimerson participated in the Call-A-Thon.

Coming in second and third were the St. Johns Builders Council (26) and Remodelers (20.5), respectively.

Even though the other teams did not score as high, they are to be commended for their effort and their team spirit.

Thanks to all the teams, including the Young Professionals Group, the Rusty Muskets, Clay Builders Council, Sales & Marketing Council and the Nassau Builders Group.

Matt Devereaux topped the individual effort list, with 15 points. He donated his $1,000 prize to Daniel Kids Foundation.

Tony Raso came in second place on that list with 11 points, which earned a $200 Ruth’s Chris gift card. Gene Rover (B&G Plumbing), with nine points, won a golf outing for four at Eagle Landing Golf Club. Other high pointers were Rick Morales (8); Dennis Ginder (7); Andy Chambers and Keith Ward (6.5 each); and James Lamoureux (6).

“What an exciting time,” said Member Services Director Hans Krieg. “We thought 100 new members was an ambitious goal, and I’m humbled by how hard everyone was willing to work to make it happen.

And then they added another three new members to put the icing on the cake.

We thank all the teams and all the sponsors. It was great to be part of this effort.
