Why did you become a judge? I always felt that being a Judge was the highest calling in the legal profession. I served as an assistant state attorney for five years, followed by 18 years in private practice. My experience as a trial lawyer prepared me for service as a judge. Also, I received encouragement to seek the office from many lawyers whose judgment I respected.
