Southern Grounds opening at Mayo Clinic’s Jacksonville campus

The city issued a permit for the coffee shop and cafe to build-out in the Integrated Oncology Building.

Southern Grounds & Co. is building-out a coffee shop and cafe at Mayo Clinic Jacksonville’s Integrated Oncology Building.

The city issued a permit May 16 for The Robins & Morton Group to renovate space at a project cost of $580,628 at 14100 Mayo Blvd. at the South Jacksonville medical campus.

Plans show the location of Southern Grounds & Co. on the first floor inside the Mayo Clinic Jacksonville’s Integrated Oncology Building.

Southern Grounds will operate in 1,819 square feet of space on the ground floor of the three-story, 255,059-square-foot building.

Southern Grounds LLC of Neptune Beach is the tenant. Group 4 Design Inc. of Jacksonville is the architect.

Mayo Clinic has developed its campus at 4500 San Pablo Road.

Mayo Clinic has said construction of the $233 million integrated oncology building that will include proton beam and carbon ion therapy is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2025.

Mayo Clinic said the Southern Grounds is an executive franchise.
