Mission: The mission of Catholic Charities is to provide services to anyone in need, regardless of race or religion; to advocate justice, human dignity and quality of life; and to call all people to join in these efforts, thereby reflecting the compassion of God in Christ.
Serving Jacksonville: Since 1945.
Those served: In 2010-11, we provided emergency assistance with rent, mortgage, utilities and food to nearly 12,000 individuals.
Biggest challenge: Limited resources to assist families in need of emergency financial assistance to meet their basic necessities: shelter, utilities and food.
Biggest satisfaction: The ability of our agency to respond to nearly 12,000 individuals this past fiscal year in the Jacksonville community in a compassionate and respectful manner.
Hometown : Chicago, Ill.
First experience with community service: As a graduate student in Chicago, working at St. Vincent de Paul’s Community Family Center.
Your job before Catholic Charities: Vice president of operations at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
