Gate Petroleum Co.’s newest store on 7099 Collins Road will feature the company’s Fresh Kitchen.
Customers at the fast-casual café can get a variety of offerings, including baked pizza by the slice or as a whole and Yobe frozen yogurt with a toppings bar.
The store, which opens Thursday, is having special giveaways that day, as well as Thursday-July 22.
Jacksonville Symphony unveils Corporate Conductor’s Club
The Jacksonville Symphony’s newest program is a way for businesses to reward workers or entertain clients.
The Corporate Conductor’s Club has two membership levels.
For $3,000, the silver membership includes four tickets to four concerts and access to the Davis Gallery, where during intermission members can get complimentary refreshments, including beer and wine.
For $5,000, the gold membership is four tickets to eight concerts, the Davis Gallery access and one valet parking pass to each concert.
The memberships are good for the Florida Blue Masterworks or Fidelity National Financial Pops presentations.
The season, which opens Sept. 30, includes 12 Masterworks and 12 Pops performances. April marks the 20th anniversary of the Jacoby Symphony Hall, where the symphony performs.

Proud Warriors helicopter squadron back home after eight months overseas
After eight months of overseas combat deployment, the Proud Warriors returned home Wednesday.
The 296 members of the Jacksonville Naval Air Station helicopter squadron served in the Arabian Gulf, Gulf of Aden, Gulf of Oman and Mediterranean Sea. They were part of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group.
The primary duties for the 11 helicopters included anti-submarine warfare and anti-surface warfare.
“I was humbled every single day these past eight months as I watched our sailors accomplish incredible things and do it with an uncanny level of pride, professionalism, grace and dignity,” said Commanding Officer Cmdr. Jason Sherman. “What our sailors achieved is nothing short of spectacular.”
Megan Twist joins Client Focused Media
Megan Twist joined Client Focused Media as a communication specialist.
She is responsible for website content and development, public relations and social media for the agency and its clients.
Twist received a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Georgia Southern University.
While at the school, she interned for Georgia Southern’s Athletic Marketing Department in the fall of 2015 and helped with planning, promoting and executing events and in-game athletic operations.
FSCJ team honored for academics
Florida State College at Jacksonville BlueWave baseball received an academic honorable mention award from the National Junior College Athletic Association.
The fourth-place conference team held a 3.27 grade point average at the end of the academic year, earning second place in Florida and 18th in the United States.
Head coach Brad Frick stresses a “student-first” mentality from the time the players start at FSCJ, according to a news release.
Bermudez promoted at Workscapes
Sarah Bermudez was promoted to Workscapes’ director of sales to market president for the Jacksonville area.
Her duties include developing sales and marketing plans and managing sales staff for the office furniture and architectural products store.
Prior to the promotion, Bermudez groomed a team that doubled sales in the market.
She also is involved in several nonprofits in the Jacksonville area.
