The Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront Downtown said Tuesday it is closed until further notice as it assesses damage from Hurricane Irma.
In a statement issued Tuesday afternoon, General Manager Luis Aloma said:
“The safety and security of guests and colleagues is always a top priority at Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, and our deepest concerns are with our guests, colleagues and neighbors impacted by the effects of Hurricane Irma.
“Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront remains closed and has not resumed normal hotel operations at this time. Pre-paid reservations will be fully refunded during this time, and cancellation fees will be waived for upcoming stays.”
He said guests with questions regarding a future reservation can contact Hyatt’s Global Reservations Center at (800) 323-7249.
On Tuesday morning, the carpet and some of the fixtures were being removed from the ground floor and water was still being pumped from the building onto Newnan Street.
The St. Johns River overflowed its banks on Monday, flooding the hotel and forcing it to close.
