State Sen. Rob Bradley will deliver the keynote address at the May 2 Jacksonville Bar Association Law Day luncheon and annual meeting.
His subject will be “Separation of Powers,” the theme adopted for Law Day this year by the American Bar Association.
Bradley has represented the 5th district, comprising all or part of 11 North Florida counties, since 2016. He previously represented the 7th District from 2012-16.
Chair of the Senate Appropriations and Environmental Preservation and Conservation committees, he also is managing partner of the Kopelousos, Bradley, Garrison & Komando law firm.
Bradley is a former assistant state attorney in the 4th Judicial Circuit, former Clay County commissioner and board-certified by The Florida Bar in city, county and local government law.
The results are in for the 11th annual Canan Law St. Patrick’s Day campaign to raise funds for St. Johns County Legal Aid, an office of Jacksonville Area Legal Aid.
The event raised more than $7,000 to help provide civil litigation counsel for poor, disabled and elderly people in St. Johns County.
The organization also provides free public legal education through “Peoples’ Law School” lectures at the public library, the Council on Aging and other locations throughout the county.
At its April 12 meeting, the Jacksonville Women Lawyers Association announced its 2018-19 officers and directors.

The Jacksonville Bar Association Young Lawyers Section will host its annual Law Week “Rendezvous on the Rooftop” at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Intuition Ale Works to benefit Dreams Come True of Jacksonville.
Tickets may be purchased until noon Thursday at jaxbar.org for $20 or at the door for $25.
Admission includes two drink tickets, heavy hors d’oeuvres and a raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase through Dreams Come True at the event: $1 per ticket, $5 for six tickets or 15 tickets for $10.
Cash, checks and credit cards will be accepted for admission and donations.
Proceeds will help fulfill the dream of a local child suffering from a life-threatening illness.
